Meal Prep Ideas for the Heat Wave


It's going to be hot this week!  Here are a few easy food prep ideas to minimize your time in the kitchen.

Protein: Grill extra meat that you can eat cold, cook chicken in the Crockpot with salsa,  hard boil eggs, and buy cans of tuna fish

Vegetables: Stay raw- chop lettuce, cucumbers, bell peppers, celery and carrots

Carbs: Overnight oats, berries, bananas and other fruit

Healthy fat: Avocado, nuts and nut butters

Putting it together into meals:


  • Crockpot chicken, avocado, romaine lettuce, and bell peppers
  • Grilled chicken, spinach, strawberries, walnuts, and olive oil as dressing
  • Tuna and/or egg salad made with avocado, pickles, and celery

Overnight oats- add berries and almond or peanut butter

Isalean shakes are also an easy option.  Just blend with ice and water and drink as a shake, or use less water and make a smoothie bowl.
